Trip Itinerary

This is a sample itinerary of what we may do on your Anime tour. We completely coordinate the events, meal options, transportation, tickets, etc. Many of the places we will be taking you are places we have been ourselves including restaurants, attractions, and izakaya’s. We will be walking a lot and using the train. For more lengthy excursions, we will provide a private driver. Flexibility is key as we may have to move things around due to weather and to ensure that you will have time to explore on your own. Seasonal excursions to Mt. Fuji may be included on your Anime tour. A visit to Hakone may also be on the agenda or Sumo, again if it’s in season. Festivals can also be happening. You see there is always something going on around Tokyo!

⭕ Day 1 Depart from your airport
⭕ Day 2 Arrive in Japan, home to anime life. We meet and greet at the airport, an izakaya 🍺 is on the agenda tonight!

⭕ Day 3 Let’s see Tokyo in its prime, we go to Shibuya and Harajuku to explore the inner city. And we take you to the best places to souvenir shop! This evening we enjoy a traditional Japanese Kaiseki meal.

⭕ Day 4 Otaku (enthusiastic obsessive culture) to the core today, we head to Akihabara (Akiba); home to anime, manga, and gaming. After a rest, we top off the evening with a view of the Tokyo skyline.

⭕ Day 5 Now rested, we venture out to Odaiba to attend ‘Anime Japan,’ the largest anime convention in the world, All day long!

⭕ Day 6 Second day of ‘Anime Japan’, and a leisurely dinner on the famous Tokyo Bay.

⭕ Day 7 Today is a toss-up! Is it Nakano broadway for more otaku fun? Off to visit a Pokemon center? Or perhaps we explore traditional Japanese temples or gardens? You decide! Whatever you would like, we go!

Being a first-timer in Japan, I didn’t know the ‘lay of the land,’ much less the culture and language of the Japanese people. I have been on tours before, but they were large groups with typical cookie-cutter touristy agendas on what to see and do, those were ok.

Tokyo Escapes was different. Having someone like Mica who could speak the language and understood all nuances and current trends of the culture (as well as how to navigate the public transportation system) tailoring that knowledge-base with MY interests made a HUGE difference. It was more than a tour for me…it was an eye-opening cultural experience. Mica made it that way! Fantastic, unique tour tailored to your interests. Put Tokyo Escapes on your bucket list.
